Isaiah prophesies that the destruction of Assyria is a type of destruction of the wicked at the Second Coming. I wonder if this means that the wicked will be destroyed through the actions of another nation, warring against them.
15 Shall the ax boast itself against him that heweth therewith? Shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? As if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself as if it were no wood!
What a poignant analogy. It is absurd how man takes glory in his actions when everything we have- even our own abilities were given us by our Heavenly Father. Everything we do should be to give glory to the Father- not take glory on ourselves. Without God we are nothing.

Purpose
I have read and read and read the scriptures in my life. I truly have a testimony of the divinity of the Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, and the New and Old Testaments of the Bible. Now, I am attempting to do more than just read, skimming over the top. I want to feast on the words of Christ that I may become more like Him and find the joy in this life that He has promised. There will be days that I will have to simply read. Hopefully there will be more days that I get to sit down and really dig deep- searching, pondering, and praying. Either way, my goal is to be sure to be in the scriptures, no matter what, every single day. Post or no post- I will make time for Heavenly Father in my life by spending time in the scriptures every single day.
