The Lord tells the people that He has tried over and over again to guide them and warn them with the gentle promptings of the Spirit. However, they have not listened and so He must use more forceful means to get their attention, to humble them, and to teach them.
How much like the people of Israel am I! When times are easy and the Spirit whispers to me in my laziness, I am slow to respond. When times are hard, I turn quickly and readily to the Lord for help.

Purpose
I have read and read and read the scriptures in my life. I truly have a testimony of the divinity of the Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, and the New and Old Testaments of the Bible. Now, I am attempting to do more than just read, skimming over the top. I want to feast on the words of Christ that I may become more like Him and find the joy in this life that He has promised. There will be days that I will have to simply read. Hopefully there will be more days that I get to sit down and really dig deep- searching, pondering, and praying. Either way, my goal is to be sure to be in the scriptures, no matter what, every single day. Post or no post- I will make time for Heavenly Father in my life by spending time in the scriptures every single day.
